On day thirty one of my juice feast…I make my friend the most delicious smelling cotton candy cupcakes. They just looked so pretty I wanted to share.
LOVE THIS JUICE SO MUCH. One head broccoli, three stalks celery, six or seven carrots, one bunch dino kale, two small or a half large beet and a nob of ginger. I also throw in some of the hemp seed powder. SO good.
I cannot believe it’s almost been a month. I feel fantastic (aside from the exhaustion from school work, senioritis is killing me right now) and I keep making these ridiculously delicious juices. Today I added some raw hemp seed powder to my Mystic Mango kombucha (try it!) and I made this great kick start juice this morning. I took about seven sprigs of cilantro, an entire bag of spinach and emptied the water from one young Thai coconut. Very satisfying and fulfilling first thing in the morning. Here’s to a successful month two!
I really do enjoy fasting. I think I’m going to go for the full sixty days. It will be a piece of cake. Right now, I’m inlovelovelovewith grapefruit grape juice, equal parts ruby red grapefruits and purple grapes with a little ginger. Also just made a really delicious green juice with fennel, broccoli, parsley, kale, spinach basil and green apple. Another one I make a lot (and thoroughly enjoy) is beet, apple, carrot with some nutritional yeast. Good way to get those B vitamins and it taste delightful amidst the juice concoction. And, I also really enjoyed this one earlier in the day, carrot, cucumber, mint, pineapple, celery. These are all really delicious juices that I’ve been making myself frequently. Give them a try!
Yeah, I’ve obviously been really bad at keeping tabs on what my daily intake is. Anyways, it’s day 12 and I’m not going to be able to blog everyday, but I decided to give you guys the recipes of some of my favorite juices, I make different ones all the time and some are just stupidly delicious!
Here’s a couple:
I will return in a few days with more new juices!
also, this is very important.
I’ve been generally bummed out lately, and by “lately”, I mean around 2 months now, for a variety of factors that I won’t get into here. It’s nothing I haven’t dealt with before, it’s not nearly as bad as it’s been at other times of my life, and I’m better able to deal with now. Still, it’s distressing that I haven’t been able to overcome it yet. As a result, I haven’t been sleeping well (very rare for me), I’ve felt tired, lazy, moody, unmotivated, and antisocial, and I’ve skipped more workouts, drunk more alcohol, and been more lenient with my diet than I normally would. I mean my life hasn’t gone completely haywire by any means, it’s just kind of “off” and unstable, which I really don’t like.
Anyway, I’m not admitting this all just for the hell of it, I do have a point. Where I’m going with this is that yesterday I finally started juicing wheatgrass again before my typical morning veggie/greens juice and I honestly feel like it kickstarted me. Yesterday was the first day in a long time when I finally realized that no matter how I feel now, as long as I keep the big picture in mind and keep putting one foot in front of the other, I’ll ride it out and will be fine in time. Maybe it’s all the B vitamins just acting as a sort of healthy crack and pepping me up, but whatever it is I don’t care because it feels great and I miss feeling great.
Wheatgrass for life, guys. I mean it. And it makes sense:
- One ounce contains 103 vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
- One ounce of wheatgrass juice represents as much nutritional value as approximately 2.5 pounds of fresh green vegetables.
- Wheatgrass juice is high in chlorophyll, which has the ability to draw toxins from the body like a magnet, and can soothe and heal tissues internally.
- It is very high in vitamins A, B-Complex, C, E and K.
- It contains beta-carotene, which acts as a scavenger against harmful molecules flowing naturally through the body or through toxins inhaled.
- Wheatgrass cleanses, purifies and feeds the body by activating the white blood cells, which boost the body’s immune system.
- Pound for pound, wheatgrass is more than twenty times denser in nutrients than other choice vegetables.
- It is a complete protein and a nutritionally complete food that contains 98 of the 102 earth elements.
